JDBC Navigator: yet another database browser/editor29 Apr 2005 10:12 GMT1
Over the past few years, I have written a Java/JDBC-based database
browser/editor. It won't put TOAD and its ilk out of business, but it
does offer some pretty neat features for people who need a tool that
will help them manipulate table data (as opposed to tools that are
Q: designer, tutapsys.dmp 29 Apr 2005 10:07 GMT3
I have the designer 9i download, and wished to work through a designer
tutorial that oracle has.
I don't know for sure the tutorial would work as it's from Designer 6i,
though various notes make it sound as if it probably would.
SQL tracking on oracle28 Apr 2005 11:18 GMT3
I'm looking for a tool (or a solution in Oracle v 9.2) that can track all
SQL statements of a session send to the rdbms.
I would like to track these for an analysis of an (Clipper) application
that uses middleware (Mediator from OTC in Poland) to talk to Oracle.
CREATE DATABASE with dbca fails28 Apr 2005 09:10 GMT4
first of all, I have absolutely no clue of Oracle, and my usual fields of
activity have nothing to do with Oracle, so please excuse my maybe kind of
stupid question. But a friend asked me to get a combination of
Oracle/Compiere running on a Linux box. So I tried it, but I am stuck ...

Forms 6i client server based application.
I tried something like the following in the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED
EM on 10g without grid control, limited to 1 database?26 Apr 2005 23:30 GMT2
When I first saw the web interface at the 10G demos I thought, "hey,
this looks ok", now I'm not so sure.
Just got 10g installed on SLES9 and let it create the starter database,
after a bit of reading figured out how to start the console, downloaded

I changed the DEFAULT&SMARTBAR menu to my own called MENU1. The menu

icons should be laying and if you move the mouse pointer above, it
shows which icon should appear.

I have never worked with Oracle before and I need to update a database with
the contents of an Excel spreadsheet.  Since I do not have the database
structure the first order of business is to be able to examine the database
so that I can figure out where this data needs to go.  ...

Update SQL using joins22 Apr 2005 23:29 GMT2
I'm seriously missing something here and i'm wondering if someone can

470,000 records.  I want to modify the 1,400 records in table m that
Newbie to Oracle22 Apr 2005 21:00 GMT10
I'll try to keep this short and (bitter)sweet.
I'm an experienced technical person with lots of hands on exposure to
