I am standing right now before a task to install many databases on one host. I know this is waste of resources and that all shoul be put to one instance and managed with different schemas - but please just leave the discussion asaid.

New to Oracle and having an apparent RI problem in SQL PLus. Ran a script to create some tables. When I began to drop them (this is for a class) one would not drop citing an RI constraint. I have a problem with a table in SQL Plus.

We are designing on Oracle 9i database. Many tables have PK on one column of 30 Varchar2 length. Some even with 50 Varchar2 column as PK. Will this cause performance problem ?

All, I had the statspack report with a wierd issue: very high Rollback per transaction %: 99.49 but other rollback statistics don't show many rollbacks.

we`re running out of free tapes in our lib, because rman (using no catalog, just controlfile) wasn`t synced so far with the catalog of our 3rd party backup software. It does not provide any tools to do so.
