After I remove the online fuzzy tag of the datafile, can it be safe on standby?12 Jul 2005 11:43 GMT27
  I developed a database file tool, when database is open, I do not
put table into "begin backup" mode, just clear the fuzzy tag on data
file header, and make sure that no fractured block in the copied
datafile, seems like a cold copy, but SCN on some block may be newer

If I have a cold backup of a 9i database instance taken from Solaris 9
running on a Sun Sparc server, is it possible to restore it to Solaris
9 running on an x86 box (Dell 2850). I'm fairly sure it isn't but have

I've got an RMAN catalogue running under a 817 installation, and want
to move to using 920 (10's not an option yet) on a different machine.
Copying the data to the new database is easy enough, but do I need to
run a script to update the catalogue to 920 compatibility?

I have a SQL question.  Consider the following table...

It seems to me that whatever I can do in AFTER ROW trigger, I can do it in
BEFORE ROW.
Are there any functionalities that can only be achieved by AFTER ROW trigger
but not BEFORE ROW?
