Could anyone suggest the minimum installation of an oracle product on a
client pc so that i may run an oracle form connecting to a database on
the server, but keeping the client as thin and cheap as possible?

Whenever I use a DISTINCT in my query, I see the "SORT UNIQUE" getting
added to the execution plan.
"SORT UNIQUE" is increasing the cost of the query by a greater factor.
Any help in reducing the cost in using DISTINCT would be of much help.

I'm planning to migrate from a single instance non-ASM database to a
new 2 node RAC database using ASM.  We are running Oracle 10.1.0.4
Standard Edition on Solaris 9 on all servers.  I'm looking for
recommendations on the best way to do this.  Should I look at using the

We currently have 10.1.0.4 (Enterprise) installed on Solaris SPARC
(64-bit).  I have started to look into upgrading to 10.2.
