Customer is upgrading an NT to Win3000, and I want to upgrade their Oracle 8 to Oracle 9i. I would prefer to just delete the entire Oracle 8 environment and do a clean install of 9i. Do I need to run an uninstaller to remove Oracle 8, or can I just delete the entire oracle

My current work is using Intermedia. (ver 8.1.7.4, they installed it before I came here to work). And we are trying to migrate to oracle 10g. And currently, I am building a test environment.

We have a partitioned table with more than 30M rows. We want to increase the size of varchar2 data type, this column is part of primary key. Do you see any impact when doing this. Will Oracle lock the whole table for a long time since it has more than 30M rows?
