I want to create a job in Oracle 10g. The job contains just a stored procedure that would be used to populate the table(s) in Oracle. Later I would be scheduling the job on a regular interval. How to go about that? Or is there a better way to achieve this?

I want to configure my very active 20 gig UNDO tablespace across 4 disks. I want to balance the IO as much possible, using the most efficient layout. I'm trying to determine it it would be better to create 20 each 1 gig data files and assign them round-robin to the UNDO

We currently run Oracle Applications 10.7, Oracle 8 db. We are upgrading to Oracle Applications 11.5.10 with new hardware. We plan on running Oracle db on Red Hat Linux. My problem is with the hardware that our hardware vendor is recommending we purchase.

Is anyone using Oracle 10g on AIX with filesystems mounted for concurrent i/o (instead of the default cached i/o) ? Just wanted to know if there are any known disadvantages. Apparently concurrent i/o has nearly the performance of raw devices.

Hi, has anyone had any experiance using the Oracle database, express edition. I've downloaded it, and installed it, however it does not run. It comes up with an error message telling me I can't access the ftp sever. I've loaded it on to a stand alone laptop. Any Ideas ?

I have an oracle database 10.2.0.1.0 running on Solaris 5.8 which I imported the data from a different version 10.1.0.4.0, the Import was done fromuser=test touser=test, after I tried to export the same data out and I keep getting these error messages
