Apparently I am missing a step in the process of working with nested tables, so I am wondering if anyone can help me out. All examples I look at look the same as mine, so Im not sure what the problem is. Here is the setup:

Is there anyway to know how many days have passed between two dates? I have a table with a date (day application was submitted) I need to compare that with today's date and see if a week (7 days) have gone by since then.

I'm experiencing "db file sequential/scattered waits" problems on a 8.1.7 database on a Windows server. I'm pretty new to Oracle Administration (and to DB Administration too), however it seems altering the number of "freelists" on specific tables and indexes could help.

We have an Oracle database (enterprise edition) installed in our IT department. It's just running as a back-end storage system and the IT department do nothing else than making sure that it's backed up. So we hold no in-depth knowledge about the capabilities of the database.
