I have a tablespace that apparently does not have sufficient space to extend any further - No issue as i added a datafile to it. Still getting the same error so i checked the freespace in the tablespace and this is the report for that tablespace

I'm an Oracle DBA. The vendor of our current application is helpless. We are looking for a new one. The one my manager like most is based on informix/linux because of the application's functionalities. I try to convince him that moving to informix now isn't a good idea.

This should be easy. I read somewhere that says we are not supposed to use normal unix command like cp, mv etc on ocfs mounted filesystem. Is this true? I now need to remove a datafile to test backup and recovery. How can I remove it?
