I need refresh test d/b with prod data. I am running Oracle 8i on
WinNT. Prod server has 9 drives and test server has 2. What are my
options? I am already doing export of prod d/b. Can I use that to
import into test? Do I need to do anything special?

Greetings, I looked in the patches section for Linux 64 Bit Intel and
there is  no family patchset for 10.2.0.2 or 10.2.0.3?  Is 10.2.0.1
the only version for 64 bit intel?

Trying my first Oracle install here.  I followed this guide -

and when it started installing, it was stuck at 3%.  The "Installation
in progress" check mark is moving, yet it's ...

We are trying to develop a script which detects if oracle server is
running correctly. We have seen that lot of oracle process are running
and with ps is not easy to know if oracle is really running. On the
other hand we saw that through sqlplus is possible to start a

we are planning to upgrade 9.2.0.8 to 10.2.0.3.
On our old environment we have had four separate instances and multi-master
replication setup.
Now when moving to 10.2.0.3 there might be a chance to start using Oracle
