BLOB to MS Word via ASP/VBScript31 Oct 2007 23:35 GMT2
I've been researching this for two days without little success. I have

stored there via Rational ClearCase.

Quite some time ago, a former colleague introduced a feature/
capability of Oracle to me where a developer can see how their SQL
statements are processed by the DB... which clauses are evaluated
first, how things are run, orders of operations, etc.  He mentioned
SQL Loader and password on the command line.31 Oct 2007 15:50 GMT6
We seem to have bumped into a common issue, and that is that we need
to automate the loading of a few thousand files nightly.
EXTERNAL TABLEs seem not to be the answer, as the files are on other
servers. Both copying the files to the DB server and using an NFS
OUI exits trying to install 10g31 Oct 2007 11:33 GMT10
I'm trying to install 10g (10.1.0.2) on Windows Server 2003.  The OUI

can see that it unzips files into the temp directory, but never brings
up the first dialog.  There is no error message on the screen or in

Our application will potentially have a few thousand concurrent user.
I know it has been debated many times, but most of the thread are
dated before 2000.  A lot of new things happened on the market these
years.
Backup of large databases30 Oct 2007 01:38 GMT9
I am still on Oracle 8.1.6.1 on HP UNIX 11,  I am using RMAN for
backups. We are going to setup a large data warehouse which is
expected to grow to 500GB.  My main concerns is backup times taken by
database backups. Currently, for 20GB database size, full backups take
