Oracle 10.2.0.1 EE on RHEL 4 We have a very large table which is partitioned by range and then further sub partitioned by list. All indexes have been created as locally partitioned but the primary key is a non-partitioned (global)

Is anyone aware of a way to compare Oracle databases (schemas and content)? I found a .net software DBTyP.net that promises an easy and visual comparison, but it seems not to be working with Oracle dbs (though their site outlines it as one of the available options).

I fetch some parameters from a table which I use as GET-Parameter in an URL. Unfortunately there are sometimes special characters like 'ä', 'Ö', 'ü' included so I have to url-encode these data during the generation of the URL.

Is there a Windows GUI pivot table tool that has the fuctionallity of pivot tables in Access (user can choose which fields to use in the pivot table, filter the data etc.)? I could of course connect Access to Oracle but this would mean that Access would read a huge amount of

If I do an explain plan of the statement below I can see that the "and" clauses that have MMDDOB=NULL do not get executed select * from v_search where UPP_FIRST='JOHN' and UPP_LAST='SMITH' and MMDDOB=NULL and AA=1 or

Often the archive log destination is not really meant to be able to hold a week worth of logs. How can we redirect media restore to some temporary mount? Alternatively, if I am just recovering a couple of blocks.. why can't
