I have been compressing my exports using pipe mechanism using gzip on

after installing 11g EE and starting DB Control (emctl start dbconsole and
login sys pass sysdba)  task manager reports oracle.exe is 100 % busy.
Without doing anything, cpu remains 100%, entering emctl stop dbconsole all

later I saw Richard Foote's complaint about the forum. What's going on?

After  moving a procedure into a package I discovered I can
no longer use "call" to invoke the procedure.
Can someone explain why this is?

enterprise application we license to clients and up until they have
all used SQL Server backends.  We have an RFP on the table to license
the software to a new client but they want to use Oracle 11g as their

We have a customer running our application in a RAC cluster. The
application runs on the database server and accesses an oracle
database.
Our application has the server hostname configured when installed.
