recall or remember values28 Nov 2003 05:41 GMT8
Microsoft Excell, or Quickbooks have a nice feature. They try to remember
the last ... similar entries.... in a column etc...and recall it when your
keystrokes tend to be similar...., but will not comit the values unless you
press the Return Key..
Which database made these files?27 Nov 2003 14:22 GMT12
I've been handed some company database files that are about 10 years old,
and asked if I can extract the information contained therein.  Nobody is
left in the company who knows anything about them, not even which
application was used.
BDE 2.5 won't install26 Nov 2003 15:25 GMT3
We have an application that uses Delphi 1 with the BDE 2.5. We
distribute the Borland Database Engine with the standard setup
provided by Borland (files dated 31/7/95). We have used this for years

Temporarily entering data via the server24 Nov 2003 18:42 GMT8
We have a small network of three workstations and one server where our
Paradox 8 database is on. We need to bring in a temporary employee to
help enter some data for two months. I remember someone saying some
time ago that it is a bad idea to have a server also be a workstation.
Paradox 4 printing problem22 Nov 2003 17:32 GMT5
I've just installed Paradox 4.0 on a computer running Win XP.
For "installed" I mean I copied the whole PDOX40 directory.
The applications I tested work good, but none of them can print reports.
Any hint?

I don't seem to figure it out.
I have set the local share to True the Net Directory to a Net Directory and
every user has a different private directory.
how /where do I set the .net file so I can share paradox tables across a LAN. 19 Nov 2003 14:22 GMT3
I have tried and spent a great amount of time trying to share a database in
a network. If I open any of the tables in the data directory all tables are
locked by that user or instance  and I cannot open any other table from
anywhere else. The error is : Database in use ..must set ...
Networking version 1118 Nov 2003 16:04 GMT10
I should have known how to figure this out but I am missing something.
I can' open shared files on a network drive.  It previously worked Ok
from Pdox 8 or 9 on WinNT but I no longer have the machines to check the
settings.  It works ok from pdox 7 on Win 3.1 and from PdoxDos 4.5 ...
Converting Paradox to MySQL17 Nov 2003 18:02 GMT3
I need to transfer my Paradox tables to MySQL on our web server.
Does anybody know a tool, that enables direct (or indirect) conversion
of the data and the structure of a Paradox database to SQL statements,
that can be read from MySQL 4.0.14?
