Paradox Convention 200430 Apr 2004 20:21 GMT5
We want to come together also this year for the second Paradox Convention in
Europe. This week I talked to the people of the French team, who were very
successful last year in organizing this meeting at Paris. We got a useful
division of work for this year.
Unbelievably Off Topic Printing Question29 Apr 2004 14:18 GMT14
....but since this seems to be one of the few newsgroups populated by people
who know how to THINK, maybe I'll finally get an answer here, where others
have failed. Ready?

gp fault when paging through reports29 Apr 2004 08:04 GMT10
Sometimes when I page to the end of a report on screen or I print I will get
a gp fault.  Some
of these reports have been developed in version 7 and are now running on 10.
What are some of the things I should be checking for?
Field Display issues in reports28 Apr 2004 18:45 GMT3
I have a report that has several fields that have the bottom parts of
characters such a "g" and "y" cut off. I've checked the "Size to Height and
width" boxes in the properties and I played with the frame but can't seem to
make the entire field visible. There are other fields in the ...

I have tried today to publish one report as doc file. The process starts but
falls down before it gets to the end. No doc file can be found in working
directory.  When I try to go on with Paradox, I get an error message
"Unexpected: General Protection Violation" and no more. Just to ...
Silly Paradox Fantasy28 Apr 2004 00:47 GMT6
...or maybe it's not. Is anyone aware of a utility which allows you to peer
into the PARADOX.NET file created by PdoxDOS 3.5, and see how many users are
logged in, and with which serial numbers? Don't ask why......if I tell you,
you'll go mad.

Gray background on reports27 Apr 2004 08:03 GMT5
We're having a problem with reports printing with a gray background.
This typically happens when a user has opended and closed many
different forms and reports withing a given session.  They're able to
print normally again by exiting and restarting Paradox but this isn't
Undocumented (?) Paradox ObjectPAL classes26 Apr 2004 22:07 GMT11
Whilst reading the P10 documentation with some attention these days, I've
stumbled on some low-lighted areas in ObjectPAL and done some research using
OPAL itself.
To be more precise, there exists some Paradox UI classes Paradox for which
Wrapping rows in a PDOX report24 Apr 2004 01:37 GMT2
I have a question about report formatting.  My report is landscape with just
enough columns (fields) to fit on the printout without making the font size
unreadable.  My boss wants me to add 5 more fields.  I would like to make
TWO rows of data per record in the report.  Is this ...
Paradox 8 Install on Windows XP Pro23 Apr 2004 20:31 GMT1
I am trying to install Paradox 8 onto Windows XP Pro from a CD.
Previously this software worked fine on Windows 2000. I run setup.exe
and the first purple Paradox screen (menu) opens giving you choices on
what to install. No matter what I choose setup.dll opens up in a
gpf and executeSQL22 Apr 2004 18:07 GMT12
Does anyone know of a limit to the number of executeSQL statements you can

Boy, do I feel stupid (basic Paradox question)22 Apr 2004 15:59 GMT10
Could anyone recommend a book or all-inclusive web site for help with
Paradox 10?  I haven't used Paradox since version 4.5 several years
ago and wasn't all that good at it then.  My current solution has
been to do Google queries when the built-in help system fails me, but

I have a huge table that I've been trying to link in various ways via
lookups and referential integrity and have made such a mess of it

keeps asking for a table that I'm trying to eliminate.  I'd like to
