Using PdoxDOS 4.5, importing a comma delimited file. During the initial scan of the file, Pdox reports "Invalid format in record <whatever>". Upon inspecting the text file, I find nothing wrong with the line that I can see. Here's an example:

I haven't used a database since I retired six years ago and never used Paradox before. My office used Alpha 4 and I was able to work with that in setting up an application to handle our trust account (I was an attorney).

I need to strip all punctation out of an alpha field leaving just the the a-z, A-Z, and 0 - 9 characters. Can this be done via a QBE or SQL Query ? and if so can anyone give an example

I have a Paradox database powering a website. For reasons I won't go into here, I need to move some data from one table to the other. What I usually do is I download the files associated with each table, open both of them on Borland Database Desktop and start copying/pasting

How can I ramdomly select a list of records from an existing table? For example: 500,000 names divided by 20,000 samples = 25. The N is 25, meaning samples would be sent to every 25th name on the list. Any help will be appreciated?
