DBMS is Sybase 11. Some users have inserted CR[/LF] in text fields,
which needs to be removed.
I'd like to use something like "where notes like '%[char(13)]%' " but
cannot find a construct that will work.

I use the -F 2 option to skip the header row.  However the 2nd row,

A customer has asked me how Sybase allocates ports for client connections to
Sybase SQL Server 11.0 on OpenVMS.  I know that the server listens on a

12461 ESD#2 server on Windows 2003 to 11.92 servers on NT.  Oddly, I
have four 12.5.3 servers, and only 1 of them is having problems.  The

LEFT JOIN / USING doesn't work08 May 2007 22:36 GMT1
SELECT * FROM location_stock LEFT JOIN stock USING (stock_num)
Why, when I run that, do I get this error back?:
Sybase: Server message: Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'USING'.

'stock_num' is not within the scope of the joined table expression??08 May 2007 21:40 GMT4
I'm trying to perform a two-table SELECT where each table has a column
named 'stock_num'.  One of the tables, however, isn't necessarily
going to have row's for a given stock_num (it might or might not).  To
get around this, I do a LEFT JOIN.  Or atleast I'm trying to do one.
